Hi folks,
I own a Western Digital 250GB Premium Edition USB2/Firewire combo external hard drive.
All worked fine... My friend has the same, and he had a problem with it, basically, when you connect it, it comes up
"Usb device not recognised"
Unknown device
He had been using it no problems, then he decided to format it the other day and thats when the problems started!
Anyway, I asked him to bring it here, and plug it in my comp, and the same thing happened...
To cut a long story short, he has bought my one off me, and i've got the faulty one here.
However;
It works via Firewire completely fine...
I've tried copying whatever was on my old one, to the new one, hoping a driver or something might work.
So far no joy...
Any ideas? If it's a driver issue, my system already had the driver on it, as my old one was working fine... I've tried using different usb ports also to no avail.
There is no specific driver for XP for this drive either.
