MyBook Keeps Reconnecting

I'm using Vista x64 Ultimate and my, now a couple of years old, MyBook keeps disconnecting, then reconnecting itself, often opening the Autoplay options afterwards.

I have recently reformatted to NTFS to try and cure this problem, to no avail.

It's only used for storage, so there shouldn't be any driver problems.

Is it on it's way out, or is there a solution?

Is it the enclosure that's dieing or the hard drive? I have an external hard drive doing this and wondering what it could be.

I bet it is the enclosure.

Mines was bad sectors on HDD, took a Freezer to get back the DATA.
