Nothing wrong with an import. I bought my brand new jap import D40x kit from an eBay powerseller for a staggeringly low price. I've had it over 3 years now works perfectly.

nothing wrong with an import if nothing goes wrong, but canon and nikon only give continental warranties (ie europe, north america etc) so you're screwed if it breaks in the warranty period and the shop you bought it from are a pain or have gone kaput.

Good point. But my Nikon did have a piece of paper with "International Warranty" written on it. It's still in the box and probably expired, never paid much attention to it.

Are the cables like Nikon chargers, just standard AC power, so could just use any old one from a laptop etc. Nothing wrong with an import. You have it now.

There will be no difference in the colours, or indeed any other aspect of the images. It uses exactly the same sensor as any other s90 from any other part of the world.

Not true in the US they have special light that makes any camera outside not function correctly.
