anyone got any hints at this. the k800 is a horrible phone and i'm getting really annoyed with my k750 the longer i have it. the joystick is useless

I have just got off the phone to Vodafone as i'm due an upgrade and didn't really fancy the K800i. So I asked about the N73 and they are getting stock on the 25th July for immediate release.

awesome, this sony joystick is winding me up. O2 better sort out their stock too!

I'm holding out for it, but i think i'll be changing network as vodafone wouldn't budge on the cost of an upgrade to a K800i, they wanted £70

o2 will give it to you free on their 750/750 for £35 tariff and Orange will do it for £30 and you get 500 Mins and 1500 texts for £30, yet voda wouldn't budge on the price.

I think orange will get my moola if they get this phone fairly quickly.

For the benefit of lazy ppl like me...

Looks alright :)

Nice phone - my N80 is doing a fine job - shame about its lack of A/F - unlike the N73 but hey it's essentially the same phone just more camera orientated :)

Just gotta go get it flashed as mines still got memory probs now an again :o

Which Orange contract is that dude?

If you buy a web exclusive plan, choose the 200 minutes and 500 texts option.

As part of their current deal, you get 1000 extra texts and 200 extra minutes to any network per month free for 18 months.

Then choose 100 extra 3g minutes as the benefit for life giving 500 Minutes and 1500 texts per month for £30.00

look alright, wonder how slow it will run though :( N series has marred nokia for me :(

Exactly what i was thinking and also how many bugs will this phone have, like the n80 which imho was an extremely buggy phone.

As much as I love SE phones, the K800 doesn't float my boat :(
So the N73 is the only other choice to be honest.

Hopefully the extra development time and lessons learned from the N80 will allow the N73 to be a great phone? (wishful thinking)

The thing that i find funny is that the Nokia N series are technically better phones (hardware wise), than SE's, but, for some reason, the SE's are completely multitasking, the Nokias single threaded, but the SE's are still faster! lol.

Eh?

Nokia's N-series phones run Symbian OS, which features a real-time multithreaded kernel. Applications tend to be single-threaded but the OS is capable of running multiple programs at once. Hold down the menu key and you'll see exactly what's running.

Most of SE's phones do not have true multitasking capabilities. Much like PalmOS, it uses a variety of workarounds to allow you to listen to music and do something else at the same time. The only SE phones really capable of multitasking are the P-series and M600i.

So why is it that i keep hearing stories that the N series doesnt allow you to txt while doing something else. For example, listening to music?
I hear a lot of reports of the N series lack of multitasking abilites. Which i thought was odd, as my 7610 was allways fine with it...?
