right, i'm perfectly willing to hold on for a couple of months for one of these phones (as opposed to getting the W810 soon... i've decided the camera is a much more important feature to me than the walkman...)

anyway, which one do you think is the best bet? i LOVE my W800, easily the best phone i've had in a good long time, but a few people are saying that maybe the N80 will be the better phone due to a carl zeiss lens amongst other things...

discuss :)

I thought the carl zeiss lens only came on the N90?

Im still going to get the N80, as pictures are not a priority for me and im sure the camera side of the phone is good enough for me.

It does. But the camera sensor on the N80 isn't all that its cracked up to be. The sony cameras are fantastic and if you do compare the photos the k800 trounces the n80 even with it's lens.

I think I'm biased though because I hate the UI on Nokia handsets...

Hmmm well ive pre-ordered the N80 myself, decided to go with that one now instead of the p990i as it more or less has the same features that the p990i has. Plus its not as bulky by the looks of it, not really concerned with camera quality as long as its half decent so that i can take incriminating photos and vids of my mates :p:D

If you dont mind me asking, how much did it cost you to pre-order the phone, tariff ? etc etc.

As it hasnt been released yet there is no price mate, but if i take a wild guess its got to be around £400-£500 for the phone as i will be buying it offline. I dont do upgrades via networks as they are terrible for putting their own crappy software on it and id rather save myself the hassle of trying to flash it and get it removed.

One online store that's famous for sticking up pre-orders very early has the N80 down for £615 on pre-order at the moment. I'd be surprised if it costs more than £500 at sensible online stores when it's released though.

I think the k800 is nicer in the way it has a proper flash (afaik) is a bit smaller and has a nice 3mp camera which I reckon will better the n80's. However I think the k800 will be out in autumn I think.... Im getting the n80 if its better to use than the n70

My mates k750i is very nice an all but i happen to prefer nokias interfaces and the N80 seems like a phone you could customise quite nicely, 3mp is a bit of a jump from my current 0.3mp 7600 so i don't mind it being outdone by the k800 - i have my Canon ixus 700 for that ;)

Probably the same one i placed my pre-order with :p. I'll just wait till they email me the proper real price before i tell them to go ahead with it.

N80 for me. Far sexier and more features. I have a digital camera for when I need a REALLY good picture, I'm pretty sure that the n80's camera will be good enough for what I want it. :)

Plus it's out considerably eariler than the k800 :)

I have to say I dont like the sticky out bit of the camera lens on the K800, but from what I've heard its worth it, as the camera is the business

Anyone know what CPU the nokia has? If its the same as it has been for the last 5 years (Since I got my 7650 5 yrs ago they all seem to be 204mhz ones) Running the symbian software, itll be same phone as previous nokias with the odd new feature, Im waiting for them to ramp the speed up finally and chuck in some decent 3d rederer! (Current one is good, plays doom etc, but is a little old) :(

Same reason why im going to get one when its finally released, i have a £2k camera sitting at home for my main pics but the n80 camera should be ok to take the odd pics here or there...or perhaps some video clips hehe...:p

Texas Instrument describes the 2420 as a "smartphone on a chip"
