Wow full flash is supported (I assume in the browser) - bloody brilliant!

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/6501_The_Nokia_N95_8GB_hits_v15_fir.php

Changes so far:

The likes of Gallery and Search are now both faster and also kept resident in memory (even after pressing 'Exit'), in the same was as Contacts, so that they're much more responsive when needed.
Speed of access to the integral 8GB flash memory disk has been improved.

Doing an 'Image store' from PC Suite only took 30 seconds to scan my device, rather than several minutes on v11 firmware.

Bugs have obviously been quoshed under the hood. In particular, the one that was stopping lots of third party themes working has gone - PiZero's New Gold, here I come 8-)

UPDATE: Flash Lite 3 and Flash video is now fully supported, I just watched native YouTube content - although emTube gives a better overall experience.

About to update the firmware, I had to write down all the apps to reinstall - bloody hell theres more apps than on my PC! How annoying is it to reinstall after a firmare update!?

Why didn't you just do a backup of your n95

Edit - oh dear '3d' menu isnt working now, anyone else having this problem?

The right hand menu button - ie the 3d menu, not the standard grid one.

I seem to be finding something new on this mobile every few days...:)

N95 8Gb runs S60 Feature Pack 2 right?

I wonder what the chances are of FP2 being released for the original N95

Hi, no its FP1 like the N95 so there is no reason why they wont update the N95 too. Then again they might want to make the N95 8Gb the flagship phone - dunno.

I take it that because my N95-8Gb has a proper product code, the generic Nokia firmware and hardly any apps on it (just 2), that i can just do a backup, update the firmware, restore from backup and everything will work hunky dorey right?

I ask because when i did it restoring from a 'VF Backup' to a generic one, it bricked the phone! lol. :p.

Yep its fine if you backup from one generic fw to another I done it earlier

Well i took the plunge regardless.
Just hoping that when this restores finished doing, EVERYTHING is like it was before. Settings. Sounds. Menu Layouts, etc;
