Hi All,

had a slight accident this evening when getting of my car, the bag i had which had a new bottle of ale in it (didnt drink drive!) along with my phone and the bottle smashed and my phone did get wet but not drenched and along with my wallet too! :( Strangely enough the phone still works and i have wiped the phone, the battery & the insides of the phone very carefully so its clean and it starts up a bit slow & shuts down slowly and also the slide is now sticking and the phone keeps thinking a couple of buttons are being pressed even though they arnt too. Anyway back to my point im on a contract with Carphone Warehouse on Orange, will CPW be able to repair or replace my phone with there repair option? Or am i not covered for accidental or water damage? If i am not has anybody got any tips to how i can get my phone tried? Or i might just end up buying a second hand N95 off somewhere as i have only got 6 months left of my contract.

Thanks all - Liam

I put my N95 in for repair ( T-mobile) altough I didn't accidently or know it had been engrosed in any form of liquid. Came back saying they wouldn't fix it due to this.

I phoned up, and course had a rant to be told the rain could have caused it. Told her it wasn't built for the purpose it was intended if this is true. She then started to panic. Went home and tried it - had dry'd by this time and worked fine. She phoned back and told her to add a couple months free and i'll buy a cheap handset - result.

So worth giving it a bash. Worst they can say is no, just don't tell them that you dropped any liquids on it.;)

In other words then, im screwed as when they inspect it they will be able to smell or pick up alcohol on it lol. I've just read up on the CPW website too and it states if the phone is accidentelly damanged or if the phone is ove a year old then they can consider to give you a free replacement, i wonder what the chances of that iv got?

hi mate bad luck on the ale+phone= broken situation. unless you've got dedicated phone insurance with them i dont think they'll want to touch it. i've got a brand new n95 going spare as i've just had an n96. not that i'm selling it on ocuk of course.

Haha i thought as much about about it Alexuslakes, I think i might just go and get another N95 when i get some cash.

Have you tried, removing the battery and dipping it in water and leaving it somewhere?

Altough not in a raditor somewhere too hot. Water should not damage it unless it has sugar or some other substance in it.
