Does it annoy people when they're sent an email that says:

as well?

I mean, surely you can see from the [email protected] who sent it........? :p

It depends who it is and who it is to - I tend to keep a bit of formality in most of my emails unless I know the person well so that involves having my name at the end.

I'd probably think it a bit odd if I got an email from someone I didn't know without any form of signoff, especially if the email address wasn't in the obvious format of a name e.g. [email protected].

Really? I've always done this as I've thought it's more Professional than opening an email with "Hi", and less forced-sounding that "Hello" etc?

Same here, unless i dont know the name of the person im dealing with all emails to clients etc begin with just their name.

Seems industry standard as well as 99% of the emails I receive are similarly laid out.

Wait, what?

I dont get why it annoys people so much, to the point of rage in some threads.

I sign my posts out of habit and it doesnt hurt anyone so I am not likely to stop. :p

Don't you realise that every time you do that, somewhere in the world a kitten dies?
