You sure it's a stray??? We have a cat that frequents my back door a lot because our tom cat was recently was put down so hes staking his claim to the bitches.

Did you check if he is microchipped as we do not collar out cats for fear of them getting snagged on something and the removable ones only last a couple of days at best.
