(Hoping this is in the right place, Its not OS Specific and more web-related)

I'm having some issues with configuring domain names. Main issue is that I barely have a clue what I'm doing.

I've been using some cheap web-hosting for a few years, and If I host my domain name on their name servers it works, but the control I get over it is limited (I can create sub-domains using their control-panel).

I want to be able to change the MX records so that I can use Google Apps as its a lot nicer than what they provide.

For testing purposes I moved one of my domains back to Fasthosts and managed to get Google Apps working without much of a fuss, but I don't know how to make everything/anything else point to something at my web-host.

Any ideas? I'm guessing that I will need to contact my web-host, but I dont really know what I need to ask.

Thanks

Which control panel script does your web host use? cPanel is dead simple but your best bet is going to be to contact your web host as without knowing who you host with, the cPanel script they use and the amount of control they allow you its hard to give any accurate response.

Ask them how you can change the DNS zone entries or create a new MX Entry as you wan't to be able to modify A & CNAME Records. Your web host will know what you're asking to do.
