And yes, you are correct. It is the John C Stennis, but if you'd looked up CVN74 on either google or altavista you'd have known for sure!!

And while we're waiting for your pic, can you tell me where this one is? It's a little harder and I won't expect anyone except those stationed there to get this one......

I guessed it was the Stennis, I didn't know what number was on it hehe, I thought it was that or the Nimitz, so tossed a coin

As for your next tricky one... hmm from what you say it's not somewhere one would expect, I'm thinking, and the only one I can think that wouldn't be somewhere I would expect... is it the USS Kitty Hawk? Somewhere in Japan I can't remember the name of. Windows Live Local won't let me zoom in far enough but I think I can see somwhere that looks like your zoomed out picture!!
