Anyhow, we do know that "retro" doesn't mean "old", right?

Retro is something modern in the style of something old. Wearing flares in 2014 is "retro". Flares in the 1970s were not.

Retro in terms of gaming usually means the 8-bit/16-bit era up until the mid 90's.

Basically everything upto the first Playstation, although as time goes by we'll soon have to include the first gen 3D consoles
