Name this game?

How violent was it
what weapons were used
names of characters?
similar games
was it released on an y other platforms..

Wasn't MDK was it?

I can't help but think that is just wasn't well known. I never saw an ad for it, never saw it in any game stores, never saw it on demo discs, never heard of it again.

I had it for about three weeks after getting the new PC, then had to take it back and it was deleted. When I asked the guy who built the PC he had no idea what I was talking about, said his son must have installed it.

It wasn't MDK but definitely of that era. It came out before MDK.

Similar games would be, Duke Nukem, Quarantine, SkyNET...

Terminator - SkyNET Official Trailer (1996)

could be this or its prequel.

See I'm not going mad. This is the closest suggestion yet, it's a third person shooter that involves driving vehicles and was released in 1996.

The graphics were pretty much exactly the same as this, in fact, very much like this game I think it may have switched between first and third person. This is part of the reason why it was so stunning, I'd never seen a game mix so much together.

It's not a Terminator game though, I was a massive Terminator fan as a kid and even watched T2 at the movies when I was 11.

It was mainly walking around shooting in 3rd person with some driving, rather than the other way around. It was set in a post apocalyptic type world with robots flying around and remains of robots scattered over the floor. I'm pretty sure spaceships were in it too.

That sounds like expendable - but there was no driving in that game... and the game I thought it was didn't have any spaceships in it.

Incase your getting a couple of games confused tho here expendable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTdJfrXqjGo

The big clue is the DOG element. It was really odd because they seemed to use the face of a bulldog in the title or the menu but there was no bulldog in the game.

The symbol was a grey bulldogs face like this:

Whoops, no idea what happened there! Like this, with the face in a similar pose:

Google disagrees.

I Googled "bulldog face" and the results were a 30/70 split between pictures of actual bulldogs and the bulldog above.
