It seems then that we're not the only one's with a Red Dwarf naming scheme.

Wireless network is called Starbug.
My PC is called Lister,
GF's is Kryten
my Lappy is Rimmer,
GF's lappy is Kochanski
mobile is HOLLY
PDA is The Cat

I'm sure I named something else too, but buggered if I can remember what! :p

my bloody firefox Find must be broken... i searched for HAL and came up empty ? earlier i put in a search for mouse on a page that clearly had the word on it and it still didnt find it.

Router - Mercury
Server - Venus
Main rig - Earth (it's where I live)
Laptop - Mars (my second home)
Mum's computer - Jupiter
Dedicated Folding box - Saturn
Sister's laptop - Uranus (ha she got the bad name)
Dad's computer - "Neptune"
My iPAQ - Pluto

http://www.us.debian.org/releases/ might be useful too.
Hamm, Slink, Potato, Woody, Sarge, Etch and Sid any good?#

edit - Might want to avoid those as it adds potential for confusion about what you're referring to

null :)

And my iPAQ isn't a full computer, so the anomaly matches, if that's true ;)

So as Pluto is now a planetiod, would that make your iPaQ a computeroid?

Actually, computeroids sounds like something that rigs develop when trying to squeeze packets out of their ethernet port too fast...

Originally I went with HAL, HOLLY and MOTHER, but then changed to Planets:

Fileserver: PLUTO (as its an old shuttle)
My machine: MARS
fiances laptop: VENUS

and at my parents house:

Mum's PC: SATURN
Sisters: NEPTUNE

and then they decided pluto wasnt a planet :(
Might rename to MERCURY ;)

Genious! :D

Fraid mine are all just named after the person that uses them. Have never had more than 3 in the house at a time though, so hardly need a naming strategy!
