Nandos

I've tried it a couple of times, and each time just found it to be pretty uneventful grilled chicken. I think I'd rather have a Wetherspoons burger, in fact I definitely would - had one a couple of weeks ago in Belfast and was surprised at how nice it was.

It's in that middle market where it isn't particularly cheap, isn't particularly delicious and isn't particularly anything IMO.

Nope, but the one in Soho is nice, as is the one in the o2, but only because it's huuuuuge!

I guess you live in/near London then from the ones you've been to, you should try the Covent Garden. It's not been open that long (probably just over a year - it's just down the road from the Porterhouse if you know that)
It's a different style to the other Nando's I've been to, but one that seems to work.

Um.. I dont really get it. A floppy empty pitta bread with some piri piri chicken in and a couple of shreds of lettuce and a few chips. For just under a tenner. Seems a bit ridiculous to me. Been once. Wouldnt go again. I rather make it at home if I fancy it. If Im eating out I prefer somewhere good.... Nandos is just glorified fast food. Tad rubbish in my opinion.

Buying pitas or burgers is a serious mistake there. They are nice but a waste of cash! Get some real bits of chicken there. Really nice IMO.

Nando's is great for cheap, tasty fast food while out.

As a few have already said though give the burgers/pittas a miss and go for chicken and sides, I prefer wings as the sauce to chicken ratio is better than something like half a chicken. 5 wings + peri peri chips + coleslaw / perinaise = win. The Mediterranean salad is also pretty good.

I take back what I said about the nandos extra extra hot. That stuff is insane in large amounts.

Used a shed load for some spicy chicken, pasta and rice tonight and my god my mouth was on fire for about an hour afterwards, absoloutely lethal in large doses :p

Just slightly off-topic. Anyone who lives in and around the Stoke area should get themselves up to Newcastle and try a roast chicken from 'The Womble Inn'. If you don't want the full chicken, they do chicken baps for a couple of quid. No fancy spicy stuff though, just roast chicken and stuffing, plus they leave the skin on too. :D

That chichking & stuffing bap sounds awesome! Specially if they leave the skin on - and its still hot!

Yeah, it's still hot alright. The smell of the place is immense, you can smell the roast chicken before you even get to the place. Also, there's a guy up 'anley duck that does fresh roast chicken baps too, he's normally parked up on Tontine square, by the fountains.

Sounds good - next time I am in Stoke i'll look out for the place. Also can't believe how badly I spelt chicken in my post - what the hell!?

There's a Womble Inn in Sale, near Manchester, too - at least there used to be when I lived there.
You could smell the place from halfway down the high street. I never tried it though, the smell was off putting enough :p

For a cheap "fast food" place it's acceptable, but it's nothing special. Not to say that I wouldn't go, I'd choose it over pizza hut or some other abomination like McD or KFC. I tend to have a whole chicken pretty much to myself though so it ends up not being that "fast" food :p
