Nandos

I can't quite see the point of this thread.

*First, the OP points out he ruined a chicken by smothering it in Nando's sauce.
*The OP then criticises someone who congratulates him on making such an awful concoction, and asks for a specific opinion on Nando's.
*The OP then criticises someone who dare disagrees with his opinion of Nando's and it's affiliated sauces.

I'm confused.

Nandos is nothing special, and the hot sauces aren't in the slightest bit hot, the extra hot and extra extra hot just taste vinegary rather than hot.

I love OCUK's food critics :p

Unless it's caught with your bare hands, skinned, seasoned for 39 days, dried then seasoned for another 73 days then cooked in a wood burner at precisley 203degrees for approximately 3 days (alternatively you can cook it in an underground pit) then left to sizzle for a few hours before serving up on a mouldy old plate it's a culinary disaster or mass produced crap.

Dixies brings back memories of being blind drunk and having chicken fights in the at 2.30am at the local shop :p Was a stunner. Then we used to walk home singing dixies chicken songs.

Not sure how anyone can say its expensive, its one of the cheapest meals out i have ever had. If thats expensive then what's cheap? 25 quid between 2 people and you are stuffed, thats basically the cost of a medium sized curry takeaway or 2 medium pizza hut pizza's, i cant think of many places you can feed 2 people for less than 25 quid unless you go to burger king or greggs.

I think the expense that other's are trying to point out is that Nando is very much of a fast food chicken restaurant, yet it's made to look a bit more upmarket with its restaurant style. So essentially you are paying more for chicken than you would in a KFC.

Never been a Nandos fan, find them slightly overrated personally. Probably doesn't help that I don't like spicy food though.

Fair enough, i think there are a few that fall into that category though, TFI Fridays being a prime one, if you think Nando's is expensive that place is a joke, its all freezer food. I think i spent nearly 55 quid on 2 people on a sunday dinner time on a starters and main it was utterly unreal.

I had a Nandos yesterday... had my usual Prego Steak Roll and chips, very tasty. Only real problem I have with Nandos is that the plates are always clap cold.
