NAS Advice plz

Hi I'm looking for a 4 bay NAS around the £300 mark, have found 2 I like what do you think thanks,

Patriot Javelin S4 NAS. Or Netgear Ready Nas NV+ 4 Bay.

Or should I jump the gun and get this:

Use a few netgear rack mount ready nas's at my work. Very quiet, very cool running. Work well. So my personal choice would be the Netgear NV+

Thanks, I do like the netgear, I have a netgear Duo 2 bay at the min that's 4yrs old, my only concern with the netgear is a lake of features from what some reviews say.. But still it will probably do the job and looks very well built.

HP MicroServer N40L!! Cheaper and can do more than any NAS box.

Going by the price to get a decent NAS, this is a more than acceptable solution.

The £100 cashback has now ended, but it's still a bargain.

I’ve been looking around, do you guys think it would be better to run a Micro ATX prob AMD board and Case with 2 HDD’s linked to the onboard raid1 controller and another 2 on a pcie raid card then run windows server 2011? I could use this as a second pc if needed then. Thanks

It's a server OS and I would not reccommend using it as a alternate desktop

If you want a file server go for a NAS/MicroServer.
