NAS advice.

I can scrounge a 3000+ Athlon + 2Gb ram system from somewhere i think.

However im unsure.
The read speed appears to max out the megabit connection on the IcyBox.
But, converting to that system i can get would save me £90-£100.

Only problem is that the drive is EXT3, and i'd likely put 2003 on it. So i'd either lose my data or have to convert the drive...?

Thoughts?

Seems to stream 1080i *.ts files fine.
I think i might keep it.

Does anyone know where i can get myself some 1080p videos for testing?

BoomAM - have you tried setting up the print or torrent server on this yet?
Print - No.
Torrent - Yes.
Once i forwarded the port on my router for it it appeared to work fine.
Im not sure if it works 100% as it doesnt show me stats, but it did give me 200kb/s download speeds.

Managed to figure out why it was slow.
Turns out that when two connections are bridged in windows, even when one is gig and the other meg, windows will only operate it at meg. Which explains why theres no speed difference with it.
But on a purely gig link, i get 9-12Mb/s write, and 15-17Mb/s read. Which is great imo.
Just need to buy a gig switch now.

I think i need to find that fix for the disk spindown thing though...
