NAS Case Suggestions

Anyone got any good suggestions for a case to build a NAS in? I would be aiming for 4-6 3.5" drives. Ideally would want it to be as compact as possible for portability!

Node 804 is what I've just build my server with 6 hdd 3.5" drives

Love the lian li pc q18 but if you don't need optical then I'd say the 804

Node 304 is often used for your amount of drives, it can take 6x3.5's.

Personally, I'd just go with Synology. I used to have custom built NAS devices, until I used a couple of Synology devices, after a day of using them, I bought my own.

Yes, they are expensive, but they work beautifully.

304 does take 6 3.5 drives but is cramped- I moved from 304 to 804 and it is much more spacious and easier to work with

I am going for as compact as possible so will check out some reviews for the 304. Thanks for all of the advice everyone!

What software did you use on your custom built NAS systems bledd? The Synology machines do look nice and the software looks good but from my research FreeNAS does much the same and more + you can save a bunch on the hardware.

If I was to make one today, I'd look at unRAID I think.
