I am thinking of buying a NAS Drive, preferably one with two bays, so that when I need to upgrade to, let's say 2TB, all I need is to pop in a 2TB drive into a spare bay, press a button, it clones the contents of bay 1 drive into bay 2 drive, then you can remove bay 1, and use it for something else, and move 2TB from bay 2 to Bay 1. When time comes to 2TB being near full, buy a 3TB Drive and slot it in Bay 2, and the whole process is repeated.

Is there such a NAS Drive that does all that? WiFi? Encrypted? NAT firewall?

Your comments, please?

Ta and of course, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL! :D:D

Any responses, please? I'm surprised that there has been over 100 views on this post and yet no-one responded? :(

I would look at a qnap or synology 2 bay enclosure.

Most can be wifi enabled or the Synology DS213air has wifi built in. I would however recommend a wired connection, perhaps through the use of homeplug/powerline adaptors if necessary to get the best out of them.

What will you be using the drive to do? And what is your budget?

Simple storage and streaming I would say the Synology DS212j (DS213j due in next two months though if you can wait).

Software is very easy to use, has very comprehensive feature set and great smartphone apps and will accomodate your expansion plans as you describe.

I review a number of units HERE
