Hi,
I have an old Hitachi Deskstar 7K4000 (HDS724040ALE640) 4TB drive I use for PC storage within the PC and been using it since I built this PC around 2012 I think, but I am thinking of moving to a Synology two bay NAS for centralized storage. I never get around to doing it with old PC components, and simply want something small and unobtrusive.
I am wondering if there is much difference in the newer Hitachi Deskstar 4TB NAS 7K4000 (H3IKNAS40003272SE) drive, and if it is worth buying that to pair with my old drive for the NAS instead of two new 4tb drives as it saves me £140.
Both are on the compatability list at least. They will be mirrored.
