Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone could help me. I'm looking for a NAS HDD to be used within a network as normal, but that can also be accessed nice and easily from any PC with an internet connection.

Any help would be very much appreciated, I'm kinda running to a deadline:( lol

Cheers,
Alien

Why arent there any threads on the MyXerver yet? no one else but me bought one?

Quite a smart bit of kit, but of course the Download Manager has no configuration options & wont start any of the torrents i drop into it...been trying to find some info on the 'net about these and theres nothing yet.

i know that a 1TB from cisco has this function, can't remember what model. works same as any other external HDD, with added benefit of a webportal to log onto to access all the files loacated on there

I've had 7 torrents queued in my MyXerver, tried using a static and dynamic IP, tried mapping the BitTorrent ports...all torrents still on 0% after a week! No firmware updates, no ability to change ports, no force encryption option - bit too basic for me. But the electric costs compared to a PC? 17W full load compared to 350-400W sucked down by my server PC.

I'll get it sorted at some point.

I just bought one today, will tell you what I think when it arrives next week (I live in Switzerland so it will take a while to get here)

WD Worldbook does this. In fact, it's what they sell it on.
