Hi guys just a quick NAS recommendation please,
I have two WD 5000 AAKS (500Gb SATA II) drives i would like to put in an enclosure, so that i dont have to turn my pcs on and stuff to access files (obviously what a NAS is for) but im not too bothered about having both drives in.
-HAS to be gigabit LAN (and i assume they use IP addresses?)
-FTP server would be nice (does this just use a port on your router so to dial in just ftp://IP_Address:PORT) do they encorporate passwords etc?
-Also if some one could explain to me how they work with bit torrents (do they have their own clients or do u use your own etc.)
-Can you get them to run other small programs? like Magic Packet software (for Wake On Lan)
-Any increased risk of data loss?
Any recommendations/advice would be greatly appriciated.
