Evening folks

Looking for advice on what kind of hardware I need for a 24/7 NAS box running an SMB share and Sonarr, Radarr and Sabnzbd. It'll need to serve 1080p to two Apple TVs running Infuse (or Kodi on Fire TV).

I'll be putting a 10-12TB disk in there (or two), running Xpenology probably. I'm not bothered about redundancy as nothing critical on there. I can rerip my library if anything dies.

I do have an N54L spare, but not sure if it has enough grunt. Would I be better upgrading? Is there anything with lower running cost? Should I add an additional network card?

Cheers

While you may get good advice in this section, your chances will be increased by posting in the Storage Drives forum which is frequented more by members with good knowledge of this stuff. It's not just about storage drives, they deal with NAS-related stuff often.

Ram pretty much the only worthwhile upgrade.Try without first and check the usage through the diskstation resource monitor when it's under load and see how well it copes.

If you ever fill the 4 bays up you can get 2 more drives fitted in the 5.25 bay up top if you ever need too.
