NAS self build

I was wondering how I could build A NAS on a budget?

It has to be capable of raid 5 as I want the real life practice for the mcsa/e I will be following?

Is this the correct thinking or am I going overboard?

Are there any good alternatives?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah m8 thx but I am talking about building the unit not the software

But tbh you can get a basic NAS from £50-£60 not including a drive so it would probably work out more expensive.

I see that I am going to have to give this a lot more thought, but thx for the advice.

Could anyone give a comment on this and let me know if I am going overboard doing this just to get real world experience or is it a good idea?
