looked at this for my DNS-323,but help file mentions that it disables/no longer supports either ext 2 or 3 file system so as i could not remember what i am usingsquiffy said:OS is irrelevent, as the OS just communicates over the IP. Saying that DNS-323 just had firmware update for Vista, >2GB file problem. Don't know if NAS or Vista to blame but it's sorted now.
i have left it at factory ,which i think was 1.01
just checked i formatted my 2 drives with ext 3 so no firmware update for me or i will lose all my data....yes??

I use one of these and share between XP, Vista and OSX machines with no problems.

as i am getting at most 35% file transfer from pc to NAS on gig lan and cat6 cable
