Nasty adds on for cars.. The one you hate most?

I hate:

Big silly spoilers

Big silly alloys that knacker the ride (worse if they are gold)

Noisy dump valves that may well damage the car rather than help it

Stickers proclaiming the vehicle to be something its not

Loud exhausts that upset the neighbours cat

Hold on.................................. ;)

Big silly gold alloys on a scooby?

However idd say neon washer jets, NOZ stickers and those body kitted cars that never get round to being sprayed.
Loud exhasts are cool and every1 knows it.

globes of lightening - you know the ones where you touch it, saw that in a 12 year old metro

also neons on the underbody and leds on the wipers...

OK, so the dump value statement was perhaps a little off, so I’ll retract that for the sake of those who have them purely to aid their car, or got them as standard fit. Although, the noise given off does still annoy me. But for the sake of saving myself as coming off as anymore of an arse, I’ll back down on these. Sheesh, sometimes I do put my foot in it.

But I still stand firm with those darn spinners.. they look so cheap and nasty.

So Penske, you win, purely as many of you defended dump valves… what annoys one, appears to be loved by others. Grr..!!! But that noise, the guy down the road with them is really grating me with them.

M3 badges on 316s and 318s :o

Unfortunately BMW do that themselves.

I had a 316 compact as a company car with some kind of sport pack that included M3 badged steering wheel and gearstick.

Personally I hate anyone who spends money on "ICE".

There is a pedestrian crossing outside my house and so I get to hear the bangin' tunes of everyone who stops at the lights, which considering I can't hear the pub next door at all means they are quite loud for no apparent reason.

I hope they all burn enough to die slowly in hospital.

I knew they put M badges on them if they put M tech body kits and accessories on them but not M3 badges

/runs off crying :(

Don't cry.

Now that you mention it, Ill ring the person I sold it to and ask if they are really M or M3 badges.

Theres a guy at work who has a "tasteful mod" as he puts it see if I can get a pic of it tomorrow but basically he was welded a bakedbean can to his exhaust (so looks like a twin exhaust) and then put a hole into the exhaust just before the back box..

sounds wonderful when he turns up at 6am in it

Neon washer jets.

People love to show their washer jets off with blue, green and sometimes multi-coloured L.E.D's.

Why? Because not many people have got washer jets of course.

Just curious as to the whole exhaust thing...

I don't like bit farty baked bean can style exhausts that serve no purpose other than be noisy and 'mint'.

However, me and a friend welded up a new rear section pipe for my car, complete with a peco "big bore I" silencer off a 1989 mini. We only used the silencer because it was straight through and the bore is the same size as the actual exhaust pipe itself - The tip is also nice as it's only about 2" in diameter.

However, what would you guys make of that...it's not stupidly loud, but it sounds nicer than the standard pipe. Tell me you honest opinions because I can take em...honest!

Just wondered how your views stand :)

*edit*

I do still have the cat and center box in place...it's simply the silencer that i've replaced.

Not much bothers me. Some things make me smile wryly (neon washers, lexus lights, pulsing neons) but I don't get upset over them that's for sure. One thing that does get to me is fluttering flags attached to ariels. No idea why.

OP- "arrogant ramblings etc etc" Snip

You sir, are the defonition of arrogant. Spinners and Bling look fricking excellent on pimped up cars, go to the states, see the real things in action. As for dump valves being pointless, what do you drive, a 1.2 corsa?

Pet hates
1. Fake 'Twin' Headlight covers
2. Eyelid's
3. Angel Eyes on chavvy cars
4. Lexus style lights when it's the only thing they've done to the car..
4. Aftermarket twin headlights
5. Any angular 'tribal' style bodykits..
6. Bolt on touring car style spoilers (especially on old nailed Nissan Primeras)
7. Seatbelt 'covers'
8. colour coded windscreen wiper gaiters

I Like kitted up cars, but only if it's 'clean'..

I saw a R19 16V today in white with twin headlight covers/eyelids/gold alloys with paint peeling off, white windscreen wiper gaiters, sat outside Halfords with his stereo on, window down, baseball cap on.. total and utter mess..

To be fair though vent to air dump valves are kinda pointless.

I totally agree, its a pretty pointless waste of money unless you happen to like the noise.

Thats comming fron someone who has a vent to air on his car. I have the recirc in the boot but dont think I will ever get tired of it to be honest. ;)

Dump Valves are standard on many turbo cars, but morealess all the standard ones make very little sound so you can't hear them.

I think dump valves sound great to be honest, on a nice Evo/Impreza/Integrale :D

They do serve a purpose, in releasing built up pressure when the throttle is let off, thus giving parts, especially the turbo, a longer life

Garfield stuck to the back window. Any cuddly toys in fact. I know a 30 year old woman who has her parcel shelf full of the things.

I've got a small Scooby-Doo (because I couldn't find a nodding one).
