Anybody follow the NHL? We have the elite hockey league over here but just watching and listening to coverage of any of the games is total embarrassment and pales in comparison to the quality of the NHL broadcasts.

By the way if anybody does follow then my teams are the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets :)

I watch it now and then (used to follow the Flyers and now the Devils) - however I want to see more of it - with the ability to see any match that is on a particular night :D

That would be good! :) If you can find a program that changes your i.p address to a North American one then you can use NHL's website to watch certain live games :) Failing that it's on NASN, also they choose the best match weekly and air it on channel 5, as well as highlights of the other games that have happened that week. :)

im a closet leafs fan... i also like the washington caps and the penguins.

ive been to the ACC and seen the Leafs play the Florida Panthers etc...

i used to subscribe to NASN just to get me access to things like On the Fly...

great summary shows...different kttle of fish to MOTD!

Definitely! those type of shows that they get across the pond are so much more in depth than the sports highlight shows we get over here. :) Closet leafs fan eh?! :p Also I reckon the way the NHL is run is a great idea. The $50,000,000 salary cap on each team works perfectly. Soccer over here should really look at something similar in the hopes of turning the premier league into more than a 4 horse race... and more recently a 3 and 2 horse race.

Leafs, Canadiens fan here...used to watch a lot of it whilst growing up in Canada but being here for the past 18 yrs i dont watch it altho i will visit the nhl website to see whats happening...Penguins won the Cup this yr beating the Red Wings.

Usually over in Canada during the winter months so have seen the Leafs play at the ACC and also been to a few Buffalo Sabre games as they arent that far from where my brother lives and the tickets are pretty cheap compared to the Leafs ones.

I don't follow it as much as I used to, I love Ice Hockey though. Been to Basingstoke Bisons a few times and also Rangers-Bruins at MSG.

For me the golden years were about 15 years back, players like these:

Rangers: Messier, Richter, Leetch
Flames: Fleury, Roberts
Redwings: Yzerman, Federov, Lidstrom
Blackhawks: Balfour, Roenick
Kings: Gretsky, Robataille
Canadiens: Roy
Penguins: Jagr, Lemieux
Flyers: Lindros

Nowadays I don't really recognise many of the names.

A few years ago I got hooked when I was sick for a week, stayed at home watching the Stanley Cup back-to-back :p

Calgary flames were my team then ;)

Haven't watched it in ages, go to see the Edinburgh Capitals now and again though.

I'm a Flames man myself. Interested at how the draft turned out this year. Anyone else got thoughts on it?

Should really go see the Cap's more often but too busy playing for the Phoenix ;)
