Is anyone else having this? I work for an ISP and we are getting BT coming back with us saying there is currently a nationwide shortage of openreach engineers, an example, I tried to book a BT engineer for a customer, which usually I can get for next day, I now have to wait a week for, for a business customer who has a total loss of connection.

Does anyone here work for an ISP, are you getting the same from BT?

I got an update from Enta yesterday which included this:

Resourcing issues within Openreach have recently caused an increase in the number of broadband missed appointments by BT engineers, to the frustration of partners and their customers.

We're seeing long lead times on PSTN installs and other jobs from OpenReach. A C&W LLU PSTN install ordered at the end of August got an install slot 28th September.

Seems to be regional though - we got an appointment today after logging a fault on Monday for a site in North Wales (no DSL sync).

We had a bt open reach engineer on-site the same day the problem was discovered! probably because he was already in the area though :p

We are based just north of Wolverhampton and BT sent an engineer from Selly Oak in Birmingham out to us. He normally works out of Leicester so I think they are struggling a bit to say the least.

We are having the same issues here, I work as 3rd line for an ISP, it all seems to have started with the massive roll out of SFI2. SFI2's dont have the 2 hour time limit that the old SFIs used to have and Ive seen a massive increase with time on faults round the 4-5 hour mark on most jobs.

Still no budging so it seems, bloody ridiculous, if we get any more faults that require engineers, the customers are not going to be happy.

Sort it out BT, we have an SLA with you, you mugs :(

I think they're all overbooked trying to find out why 21CN isn't performing as expected...

Quoted for teh truth :o, oh well, guess they will just have to wait to try to charge £200 because the fault is down to "end user equipment" how I proove them wrong every time

I had this for a line install in our new flat, was bounced from the 1st to the 4th to the 14th!
having said that, when they DID turn up today, it was two very pretty girls doing the install.
they didn't want coffee :(

No way :( 2 female BT engineers? I wouldn't have cared about the copper, id be thinking more about fibre, lots and lots of pasty fibre

I think we may have a fault but just havent rushed to get hold of bt. So this means even if I bother it might take weeks to fix?

I wouldn't put off calling them, its just going to be down to postcode lottery I am afraid and the availability of engineers at the time you make the call. Everyone is going through the same from what I have read.

Unfortunately I have another ticket open which also requires BT REIN engineer and these specialised engineers are twice as bad with availability at the moment :(sucks.com

Typical lol. I kinda let this creep up at me from the side as the modem was acting a bit weird. We then go out and buy an nintendo wii and my missus says I want this in the tv stand please, exactly where the modem was living and now its ended up on the floor beside the tv cabinet. Ever since it was moved the problem as become worse. I know I need to pull the perverbial finger out and get testing but I know dam well its the line as it has happend before! We are getting the classic "phone rings, adsl dies out" problem.
