'Nature' within distance of London?

The lady friend wants me to take her to 'nature' tomorrow.

Is there anywhere I can take her via train that is like a nature park or some nice scenery?

Let me Google that for you. Where in London are you? There's no point suggesting the Cotswolds if you're in Docklands, for example...

I'm Googling.... but as I never bother with Nature (not in this country) don't really know what's out there.

Also I haven't been to many other towns around the country.

I'm in North London.

Richmond Park was a good idea. It's also close to Kew Gardens so we can do that as well.

Next stupid question. Are there proper path ways or will we be walking and getting muddy?

I.e do I need a spare pair of shoes.
