NB heatsink

Hi guys

I recently purchased this from ocuk

It's working fine with my e6600 at stock speeds 2.4ghz but the heatsink on the northbridge is fairly hot.
Now if i overclock to 3.0ghz the heatsink gets incredibly hot and i can only touch it for about 2-3sec before it hurts the fingers the system is still stable though.
I've tried many different programs to find the NB temps but none will display it,so im just wondering if keeping the pc at 3.0ghz will dmg the northbridge or are they designed to be that hot.
The voltage controls for the mch are left on auto and the case has 1 single fan blowing air in.
Any advice is welcome

take ur pick these after market NB heatsinks will worl a lot better

Thnx for the speedy reply,but do i really need an aftermarket or are the heatsinks ok to be that hot ?

they should be fine my old X48-DQ6 gigabyte used to get up to 64°c and it's still working a year later you should be fine.
