Quick question regarding my acquired NCD...

Just insuring a new vehicle and looked back over my policy documents. When I was insuring my current car I got a quote based on 5 years NCD however, by the time the policy had actually started I'd acquired 6 from my other car.

I got onto my current insurer there and asked their advice on this. I was told no, my NCD is 6 years(I've received 1 years NCD from them) and that's it, I can't add the additional NCD onto any future policies.

My views are, I should have 7 years NCD. What's your take on it?

I know they don't let you add NCD to a current policy or didn't when I tried but I can't see why you couldn't stack the current NCD and the extra year on a new policy.

I guess if he is asked to send proof of NCB, all he's going to have is 6 years from the current insurer on the renewal letter?

Request proof of the extra year from the other previous insurer and send them both, unless I've misread.

the previous insurer is going to issue him with 6 years ncb as that's what he had with them.

the current will issue 6 years too because that's what they're aware off.

it sounds as if you're going to loose your 1years ncb unless you can somehow combine them but I don't see how really.
