Ok, after reading around quiet a lot of "newer" reviews it turns out NCQ is slower than no NCQ for most "average" home users.

However I alittle worried if NCQ can be disabled without totaly destroying all the data on the drive? is it true?

or can it be enabled and disabled without issues with data loss?

thanks :)

I just disabled mine after reading about it on the net. Havn't lost anything, no problems :)

edit : I have Maxtor drives
