NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Why go with MPSS if you're buying now since it has been dropped by Michelin? Unless you can't get PS4 or CSC6 in your size, in which case I would understand...

PS4 is not replacing MPSS and is not available in larger fit sizes 19" and upwards. Not sure what Michelin is doing really, I would have course prefer PS4 as its the newer better tyre.

CSC6 not really checked, but I know the MPSS are fantastic subjectively feel wise and last forever which to me are more important than absolute outright grip.

I won't be ordering tyres until June/July so if more options become available I can change plan, but I also like MPSS for the fact they are a wide fitment, so a 275 section tyre is more like 285 section in other brands for example. :)

P.S. Not saying no to CSC6 just want to see more feedback from people who drive like a nutter and their longevity, but price wise they are very cheap compared to MPSS, so I might give them a try. :)

Both myself and mrk have CSC6 fitted now, so we can compare wear rates. I've done maybe 1000-1500 miles on mine so far so too soon to comment really.

You've got time on your side though, I'd personally leave it as long as you can for more evidence to build up on all the new tyres...

Just checked, can get 275 fronts, but C6 don't seem to be available in the 295/35/20 size. :(

So unless they release the rear size, MPSS it is.

P.S. Can you post up a close up photo of just one of your wheels, wanna see what the tyre sidewall looks like. :)

Sure thing, I'll be heading out to the car in a few minutes so I should be able to post up a pic later on for you :)

I took some from some other angles so you could see how deep the rim protection is...

Nice, rim protector is a nice idea, I like that. If they bring out the rears I shall be tempted, forgetting grip levels, how do you find communication from the tyres, especially in the wet? My love from MPSS comes from their incredible feedback even in wet and cold conditions and even when they do let go they are so progressive.

The Pzero communicates quite OK but in the wet you go from grip to then the tyre just throwing in the towel and giving up, it is a extremely poor tyre in cold conditions both dry and wet. Wet and sub 7c it really is very bad, wet and 15c and its a different tyre and not so bad. It is just hugely sensitive to temperature. Whereas MPSS did not fall off anywhere near as bad in colder conditions.

I know exactly where you're coming from with this and I know you know this is all subjective but I will do my best anyway.

In absolute terms, wet grip (albeit on these tyres on my car with my geo) is just stunning. I'm easily taking corners in the wet faster than I'd have dared to in the dry on my 5mm+ RE050A RFTs. Getting on the power really early is super easy on these tyres, but then again I'm only running a meagre 306bhp/310Nm. Part of the ability to really press on is that they do seem to let you know what's going on rather than just falling away when they've had enough.

They seem really progressive so far, but the limits are also quite high... Tricky to really exploit that too much on the road in the dry without really risking an enormous accident.

Turn-in compared to the runflats isn't quite there, but the sidewall isn't particularly soft. You definitely don't feel sidewall squidge but then again these are 35/30 profile tyres so there's not much sidewall to move around anyway. What they've lost in outright incision as you turn the wheel, they more than give you back in mid-corner poise and forgiveness.

On a recent blast around the Evo Triangle/Horseshoe Pass in what was extremely wet conditions, with rivers running across the roads and pockets of standing water, at no point did the tyres make me feel nervous or behave in a way that sapped confidence. I'd say that accounting for the sheer amount of the rain, I was driving the car at 8-9/10ths. I'm yet to push them as hard (relatively speaking) in the dry for so long but from what they've done so far, I'd expect them to be just as well mannered.

I'm looking forward to reading the reviews of the "big three" when they come out to see where the CSC6 is in relation to the PS4 and ASY3!

Hi there

Well the part I was waiting for was the Ford Shelby GT 350 track spoiler, I went for this over the Shelby R wing simply because it flows with the cars lines and just seems to finish the car of perfectly, whereas the R wing even looks out of place and very after market even on the 350 R, so on a regular GT I feel it would have looked totally over kill and stupid.

I got Wayne at Car Body Repairs in Stoke to fit it for me as he painted the BMW and did a good job and I never trusted myself to go taking a drill to my new car. Though the template Ford supply does make life rather easy.

Some photos from Wayne installing the spoiler:

Ford template stuck on and let drilling commence, you will need 3mm, 7mm, 10mm and 13mm drill bits:

Cannot express how happy I am, it absolutely sets the car off, complete factory look and follows the lines perfectly. She is absolutely stunning but the car is crying out for its bling bling 20" wheels now to make it complete.

Also for those who care it is a functional wing just like the front splitter so the two together add quite a bit of downforce at higher speeds, I've done them for the looks but of course any handling benefit they give I won't say no too. :)

Of course being genuine Ford item the finish is identical to the decklid, so a perfect paint match, which saves a lot of money and time as no requirement to paint.

Personally, I don't think that suits it at all... Maybe it would with a de-chrome and gunmetal wheels..? ;)

yesssssssss Gibbo that looks awesome
wheels need to be darker though.

edit chrome has to go

Going the opposite, wheels will be brushed/polished silver with a clearcoat, so similar to AMG High-sheen finish found on Mercedes.

I am going for a more classic/aggressive look instead of the look that everyone does which is dark/black, so keeping the chrome as the polished wheels will go well with it.

It might look crap it might look awesome, time will tell when I get wheels in a month or two time. If it looks rubbish I go to plan B which is black chrome wheels and de-chrome the window surround. :)

I love the spoiler for sure but the wheels look off for some reason and I can't help it but feel that you need different wheels :)

Nope agreed, wheels are doing my head in now, because they are looking lost, they are wrong colour and look small on the car and there is a tad too much tyre.

New wheels are 20" so an inch bigger and running ever so slightly less tyre wall, about 5mm less but overall wheel diameter with tyre is about 3mm more, looked at 1000's of photos so in theory should look spot on. But until they are on I do not know, I might dislike it and have to get them changed in colour and run a different tyre profile.

Colour was either brushed/polished or black chrome.
Tyre size was 275/35/20 & 295/35/20 or 265/35/20 & 305/30/20.

Gone with first on both as I prefer more tyre, comfort and traction. :)

Not a fan personally, I think it's a strange size; not being quite big or small enough.

Might fit in better once other bits have become a bit louder though!

Only wheels are changing now, but yeah guess they will be a lot more louder, being bigger and shiny! :D

I've struggled to find a spoiler I like :(

Problem is there is way too many and I feel most of them go against the cars natural lines and the fitment is not great.

I feel the Ford offerings are best:

- Ford GT lip spoiler
- GT 350 lip spoiler
- GT 350 track spoiler
- GT 350 R insanity, mahoosive silly looking rear wing.
