Ooo the excitement . .. this lot i waiting for me at 'work' . . .have never put a system together before and will be doing it tonight . . .is it jst a case of following instructions in the motherboard manual?? any pitfalls i should be looking for . .. thx

Make sure you don't forget the standoffs between the motherboard and back of the case. Someone did that a while back and fried their mobo.

just been ripping everything out their boxes lolz . . .feeling a bit intimidated but sure I'll get through it .. .can't start building till tonight but will prob ask for help on here as and when needed . .

yes, this mix up has clearly come about due to a lack of pics!!!

unfortuneately got no camera at work so, as far as reality is concened . . none of this has actually happened yet

the building will start at 8pm, cant wait!

no idea where all the cables go though . . .

and ffs the memory slots are for DDR2 not 3 so I've hit a dead end :rolleyes:

ok that freezer cooler has completely flumuxed me . . .

am I meant to take the other bracket off? I jst dont understand how to fit it over the CPU!

Edit - nvm jst realise have to ignore the retention bracket that came with the cooler... .

Edit - ffs! theres no way the cooler will clip on the bracket wtf!

ps . . .if I have say a load of games on my old hard drive will I need to reinstall on new one or jst link the old one up and load them from there?

but otherwise all the fans are running, PCI power etc . . .and **** me the temp in the room jst went about 5 degrees

Well . . .everything is up and running and I'm on the new comp .. . niiice!

only a couple of teething probs could do with advice on . .

1) The cooler is not being detected on boot so I'm having to press F1 as 'CPU fan not found' or something . . I know its working cos it's pumping out untold cold air and the dial is working ..

2) getting zzzchhsh sounds when I open a music file very briefly before the track plays . . .
