Nearly time to build 1st comp . .. advice plz ;)

Motherboard - check

CPU - check

PSU - check . . .

no idea where all the cables go though . . .

and ffs the memory slots are for DDR2 not 3 so I've hit a dead end

I think OCUK put up some false info with that mobo. I've noticed it's now been removed. Try taking your RAM back and get some DDR2. There should be no difference, and you'll get some money back.

Edit: Yeah, the product has been taken down, but google search (look at the title of the first result) brings up the title for it. Bit of a swizz that.

swizzlers! hmmm . . . i can prob get about a GB of mem from another comp at work will I be able to boot with that once the build is complete?

so the freezer cooler directly replaces the cooler that comes with the CPU? and I chuck that one in the bin or what lolz

ok that freezer cooler has completely flumuxed me . . .

am I meant to take the other bracket off? I jst dont understand how to fit it over the CPU!

Edit - nvm jst realise have to ignore the retention bracket that came with the cooler... .

Edit - ffs! theres no way the cooler will clip on the bracket wtf!

It takes a fair bit more force than you would imagine, I had to spend a good 20 minutes getting mine on.

all components installed and plugged up . . .time to boot her up!

ps . . .if I have say a load of games on my old hard drive will I need to reinstall on new one or jst link the old one up and load them from there?

cheers

They might work, I don't know. Were they installed under vista or xp? It could be that you'll have to reinstall them. But you can still link up your old HDD and reinstall them on there.
