Just got my new NEC 24WMGX3 today. WOW! What can I say? It's absolutely fantastic, I'm seriously blown away by this thing. Had an LG 22" before so didn't expect too much difference, but this thing is in a league of it's own as far as I'm concerned.

Big thanks to Baddass and his site at TFTCentral - some great reviews and tips on setting it up, as well as great info and links to calibration sites etc.

Also thanks to all here as it was mainly due to what I'd read here that pushed me towards this as I was looking at the cheaper TN panel units, boy am I ever glad I got this. I'm well into photography and my pics are just so much better on this screen.

Anyway, currently my settings are as per the recommended from TFTCentral:

Mode: STD-2
Brightness: 20
Contrast: 50
RGB Colour Mode: 2
Red: 96
Green: 94
Blue: 93.3

They seem to be pretty good but does anyone have any other recommended settings they'd care to share?

(Oh, and tomorrow hopefully I'll be putting in my 4870X2:))

Thanks in advance,
Si

I think you've made a wise choice, it has the best overall performance - show me another 24" that has great color reprodution, minimal ghosting and input lag as low as some TN monitors, there isn't one :)

I want this monitor, really can't justify £400 over my OcUK Digimate VA panel which works good most of the time.

Yeah I know what you mean - my basket was changed several times over the course of about a week - it was either this or an i7 upgrade, but with having a 6 month old Quad already I figured I'd go for this first and wait for i7... my finger hovered over the 'Checkout' button so many times, but finally went for it and am v pleased with the result.

To be honest this is the best pannel i have ever owned in the 24" range. Beats most higher ranges aswell.

The sheer quality of this screen amazes me when i watch bluray movies and play games.

Hrm I'll try some of these settings - I found Game-1 made the colours a bit too rich for my taste but I'll give it another bash :)

"there's £400 out of the account & you have a new monitor" errr I'm creative but even I would have an epic fail there lol.

hmm syphon off 40 a week for the next 11 weeks ??? im not trying to spend your money for you honest :)

seperate accounts F T W
