NEC LCD20WGX2 On Special. Should I Buy It??

Been on the Hunt for a 20" widescreen for a month. Read review, article guide everything and come to the conclusion that this is the best one to go for apart from the price.

As it's slightly cheaper this week I think i'm going to order before Thursday arrives. :D

Bit gutted that this verion has no HDCP compared to the US version though. All the other HDCP compliant TFT's don't look as good for gaming as this one does. :(

got mine yesterday and all i can say is WOW :) I have been using crt until now and was concerned with all the info about tft, fuzziness etc, and all i can say is this screen is crystal clear for me anyway, dont mind the reflective covering as it looks and feels like a good ol crt to me so am happy there. Pushed it with a few games, lovely lovely lovely is all i can say. am recommending the nec whole heartedly , as someone here said to me, you wont regret it :)

Glad you like it mate. The NEC is the only 20" Widescreen (iirc) without the usual haze on the screen. It's fantastic and I doubt I could ever go back to a hazy monitor after this.

Yep, it's a lovely monitor :) I also have no issues with the glossy screen as I came from CRTs and glossy screens are second nature to me. It actually enhances the pictures and gives more depth. This NEC is defo the best TFT out there right now imho for giving me that old CRT feel but with all the advantages of a quality TFT thrown in :)

Couldn't agree with you more. Although, I switched around 3-4 LCD panels before giving up on my trusty Diamondtron M2 CRT, NEC OptiClear LCD picture was like a breath of fresh air and it's still holding that all-time good CRT feel legacy. Great combo, no doubt.

As someone mentioned, you really feel like there is no barrier between you and the liquid crystal - picture is simply ALIVE ;)

Well guys, all i can say is what most other people on here have said and tha is WOW!!!

To start with i was using a KVM switch which caused a lot of ghosting :( but i set the KVM to mouse/keyboard only and used the monitor to switch between computers and it's now absolutely brilliant!

Just played Live For Speed in 1680x1050 and all i can say is another WOW! Simply stunning looking, crystal clear and absolutely no ghosting.

Coming from a 19" CRT as well this thing looks gorgeous and no going back now.

On a side note, i did think i had a dead pixel until i noticed it was a spec of dirt on the outside of the screen :D

Many thanks to all who recommended this monitor, as you were all 100% spot on.

Cheers again,
