i was just wondering how many of u have problems with

Bleeding
or
Dead Pixels
etc.

i got problems with bleeding..

EDIT: how do u do a poll in these forums?? is it disabled?

Recieved mine yesterday. No dead pixels.
Backlight bleed bottom left and upper right corners. Also a wonky Power button.

Backlight bleed has all but gone after a days use, button is still wonky.

I have phoned NEC and requested an RMA but feel a bit of a fraud as the backlight issue is much better than when I first powered it up.

I think its down to stresses in the panel caused by transportation.
Over a while the stresses even out and the bleed disapears....just a theory!

I voted none at all.

I did have some backlight bleed at 1st but after a couple of days it went so I'm happy as can be now.

I wonder if people who are happy don't even bother to read this forum once they have the monitor. I just find it hard to believe that "twice" or maybe more people have problems.

I think this monitor rocks !!!!

Its normally same old thing people tend to use forums to discuss problems. Its rare that someone post I got such and such a thing that is problem free. OcUK have sold about 150 since originally stocking these and we've not heard anything back so customers must be happy with them. :)

ok id say fair enough.. BUT lets not be so absolute. there are certain things you need to consider.

1) How many will know what Backlight Bleed is?

2) How many will accept it anyway?

3) How many will run a test to see if it bleeds?

4) How many will even notice it?

5) How many will stare at a black screen and notice it?

6) How many will think that that is not normal?

7) How many called NEC straight away and didnt bother calling OCUK?

take all these into consireration... seeing the magnitude of the problem i dont think that the problem is as "contained" as we hope it is.

I received mine 2 days ago.
It’s got 1 tiny dead green pixel in the top left which I can only see if I stare looking for it on a black screen so I couldn't care less about that, and 1 very small grey one in the bottom right corner which I almost forgot about as its almost unnoticeable.
I’ve got a bit of backlight bleeding I think in the bottom left but after moving dark images around on the screen for ages from corner to corner, playing fear, Doom 3 running into dark sections I can barely make it out and it doesn't affect colours etc in the slightest unless I stand still and stare at the screen which no one in thier right mind would ever do.
There was a bit in the botton right too which has magicaly vanished as I can't see it all now.
Even then it might just be me seeing things as I don’t know 100% what I’m really looking for as you said.

Edit - found my camera at last.

Overall I love the screen and anyone wanting a new one should consider it :)

Got mine today and have one dead pixel in the bottom right of the screen :(

I've emailed NEC to see if I can get a replacement as on their web site it says they have a zero whole pixel defect policy but I keep reading contrasting views on this!

Has anyone else RMA'd their NEC?

Cheers,

Marcus

1- no need for bold text

2- people get confused between dead pixels and dead/lazy sub pixels

3- My monitor was bought many months ago and is perfect :)
