Obviously this monitor is well recommended on here.

If anyone has one how are they for reliability?

Just, years ago I had an Nec pc with 3 year support. I was glad I did as although the monitor was thought of as the best of it's class, I had 3 replaced as faulty in 3 years. This put me off NEC big time. My current IIyama is still going strong but in need of replacing.
 
I hope it's as reliable as my previous 20wgmx2 was. I only had that go wrong towards the end of it's 3 years when the on off switch started to become a little dodgy.

Tbh I don't really care if it does go wrong since next day you get a replacement so no big deal.

Is that through Nec's 3 year warranty.

Next day sounds good as before i have waited almost a week for engineers.
 
Yeah on the monitors it's next day replacement swap out. You don't even need to pack the monitor in your box.

A courier arrives with the replacement and leaves it with and then next day the courier comes back and picks up your old one which you just put in the box they supplied.

Hardly any downtime.

Advance replacement eh? That's almost unheard of for retail customers. I'd heard that NEC's customer service was very good but that's great news, and certainly very re-assuring in case of any probs, just another reason to choose this one and I'm still very glad I did! :)
 
I have nothing but praise for NEC monitor warranty cover and service. I was also greatly surprised when they told me they ship the replacement first.

I wish all computer warranties was like this.

how good is the text on this screne is it very sharp and clear as i have looked at a HP 2448 and the text on there looked abit out of focus and the apple led tv looked sharp as hell

is the nec very good or exellent and very sharp and clear for text and desktop work ?

or is the hp 2475 better at this ?

Haven't looked at the HP's you mention but we have several Samsung 24" (all TN's though) at work and the NEC is in a different league - it's simply superb!

My 20WGMX2 power button has crapped out on my too, although the monitor is 4 years old now. I can still use the power switch on the back to turn the screen off so it's not an issue.

Other than that it's been perfect, and I still haven't found a suitable replacement for it.
 
Just read Custom Pc - on about 24" monitors.

The Hp came out top.

By far the best review to me was the NEC though, but it was overpriced they said.

Well they had it at £570, maybe overclockers uk should get their price added at £409 this monitor is my definate choice.
 
after reading the reviews etc i bought one, it arrived today and its getting sent back, just powers off all the time, just goes to show no matter what you spend...

nec tech support are a bit un-informed.

told me the reason it does not come on was because i never set my monitor to 60HZ in windows.

its awesome for everything as far as im concerned, best monitor i have ever had, cant recommend it enough :)
