ive never had a nectar card so I just applied online, I then noticed a site
http://www.nectaradpoints.com/nectar/ad

so I found the 11 digit number and registered to the above site, it seems that theres ad after ad that adds up nectar points and then every sunday transfers them onto your nectar card account, now as far as I know 1 point = £1 spent in the shop? so far in under 1 hour ive managed to bag 150 points which seem quite good ?

is this all legit or am I wasting my time? are nectar cards even worth bothering with

my reason for this thread is if its a waste of time ill stop watching these silly adds :p

250 points = £1 :o that's rubbish, ive linked it to my ebay account and I already shop at sainsburys so ill keep it in my wallet inaway and cash all my points next xmas on shopping. I am also waiting for the luma 4% cashback to come back next year some time

It's taken me AGES to get £17 worth of nectar card points...

do you mean from using that site or in general?

I have about £50 on my Nectar card, I just use them to pay for small items in Argos. Just hand over your Nectar card like you do a debit/credit card and Robert is your Mother's Brother.

If you get some of the deals for points boosters then it can add up reasonably quickly but I'd definitely view it as a minor bonus rather than a reason to use any particular vendor. Every so often it adds up to something useful in terms of Nectar points but it does take quite a while to get to that stage.

You also get Nectar points on the bay I think. We save ours up all year and then put the points towards the Christmas food shop. We had £90 worth this year.

You do still get nectar points for buying on ebay, but even buying a car, or a motorcycle in my case won't get you many.

You can't spend them on ebay though. I used some recently for some little purchases in Argos.

It's a pain though. Some places will only allow you spend them in £2.50, £5 and some only £10 increments. You've usually never got a round amount in your account though.

Not sure if Nectar have sorted out their site now it used to be a pain to find out how much you had in pounds, so I used a quick calculator - http://moneysavinganswers.com/shopping/rewards/how-much-are-my-nectar-points-worth/

I've been using adpoints for a few months. It's genuine, you get the points. The apple/android app used to be really good to have with offers of bonus points but not many good offers on there now. If you use the shop you usually get some kind of voucher(s) with your receipt. I just used one for triple points and I was spending £80-something so the points were about £2.50. Still not a huge return but it adds up. I mostly paid for my PS vita with nectar points on release day. It's easy to spend them in Argos, they just swipe it at the till but only in £2.50 increments.

If you shop at sainsburys hombase eBay. Fuel at bp they will mount up fast. Quicker than clubcard points.

Every shop I go in I ask of they do nectar points. It's surprising who does.

I shop at wigan sainsburys aswell ;) as I live in st Helens and we have no sainsburys also homebase is next to sainsburys so a winner!

We seem to get £30 - 50 a year in points, just from petrol and the odd bit of shopping. We do most of ours at Aldi. We then spend them at Christmas on food and alcohol!
