I need a simple USB 8TB external storage drive - which one would you suggest?
It would be plugged to mini PC that runs 24/7, for large storage (movies, photos etc)
I was looking on either WD My Book or WD Elements or Seagate Expansion Drive, but maybe there are better solutions?
I read pretty a lot bad reviews that WD lately die like sick geese...
No need for NAS boxes or RAID etc - I have 2.5" backup drives for that one, just need one that will run 24/7 (cannot be internal as its small mini PC).

What would you guys recommend?

I bought the Seagate last month.

It is quite fast, not nvme but faster than I expect. like 900mbps...I need to double check. The only thing I don't like is I don't know why these drives (not just this one), uses one of these flat USB sockets rather than USB-C.

Part of the reason I got this one is I wanted more USB-sockets, for mundane things like my controller.

Thanks guys.
I think I could go with WD Elements as I have 15% discount on WD, so 8TB should be around £125.
Only thing is Elements is 2 years warranty, but that My Book is 3 years, only thing its more expensive.

Are these types of external drives noisy? I need some large storage (12tb+) and was wanting to get away from my 2 remaining hard drives but the cost of sata ssd's is prohibitive
