Hi all

In my bedroom (and it's my main TV) I have a Panasonic 37PX80. Had it for about 3 years now and fancy a change. Due to it's location I can't get anything much bigger. I think a 40" will JUST fit in if it has a thin frame.

What do you guys suggest? Budget is around £500 I guess. I use it for PS3 gaming/Sky HD/Very rare Blu-Ray film.

I've seen a SAMSUNG UE40D5520 40" Full HD LED TV i think it was around £480.

Is this TV any good for what I want?

You guys are the smart ones...help :p

Obviously I want the best that I can get for the money.

Finally...how much could I get for my current TV? I was thinking around £100-150?

Audio wise I just use the TV speakers for watching TV then use my Astro A40's and mix amp when gaming.

I'm not much of an audiophile but I do like a good picture on the TV :p

I would not swap a Panasonic screen for an additional 3 inch viewing space on a Samsung. Not in a million years. Keep what you have.

I'd rather have the Samsung - while the Panny is good, it's old now. Plus the Samsung is bigger, and is actually 1080p.

I have an even older non full HD Panny 37" Plasma, and I haven't replaced it because the picture is far superior to anything except the new top end Panasonics. As I said, I wouldn't swap it for a budget Samsung.

In this case, if your set on upgrading, save up and get another Panasonic.

Where can I find the true size of a 42" then. Not the screen size but the actual casing size? Width and height?

I sit about 6ft from the TV....it would be a bit big :p?

I sit about the same, prob a bit less acctually. Our rooms are tiny.

Don't know about your blocks, but a 42" will fit easily. I know a mate at Leeming though that had to get rid of his 42" as it wouldn't fit in his room.

Going to be dissapointed when I move to Leeming. I think the bezel on the G30 is pretty thin though.
