Need a badass wireless modem/router for rock solid downloading/gaming... suggestions?

Does anyone else wonder if its the router thats causing disconnections/lag/time outs or if its just your line or say your torrent/p2p activities ?

I know with my previous 2 belkin routers I was rebooting on a 2-3 day basis which just wasnt that good, another 2-3 m8s with belkins said theres do the same even after 1 day !

My linksys is good, but still requires perhaps one reboot per week if not twice sometimes.

I got a feeling its my p2p activity and all those incoming/outgoing connections that causes my line to lag and die.... but cant be sure

Any opinions on that ?

Well I download legal torrents all of the time and whereas with the Belkin it was always getting "confused" and going treacle-slow with a lot of connections.... the linksys is bullet-proof so far, and the basic QoS has made a marked difference. The connections can affect the router but you can also configure uTorrent to use less connecitons and thus decrease the load on the router... have you tried this?

yeah gonna try ;)

I bet this solves my router from laggin out sometimes but for now just like yourself my linksys is doing good!

It just seems to handle stuff better/easier then belkin does :)

Ohhhh just been looking at this one, the Draytek 2820n and it looks like the most amazing piece of home networking kit... http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2820.html

I know it's expensive at £170 but bloody hell witht hat awesome spec that thing should last years...

For once Draytek have made something look nice!

Their 2800vg series is a top piece of kit, same spec as the 2820 but not with wireless n. Can't fault them at all, especially with the features you get rammed into the thing. Handy to be able to have a 3G card hung off the back of it in the USB port for in case your ADSL goes down.

vimpster what's your model number? Would be helpful for investigative purposes. :p

Also what do people think of these:

Buffalo WBMR-G300N Nfiniti

D-Link DKT-810

what do you think of the Buffalo WBMR-G300N Nfiniti, ?? was thining of gettin one to replace my old router and to use as a torrent download server with a USB hdd.
