I've got a Thermaltake Core V1 case and the front 200mm fan is loud. I've got a Maximus VI Impact motherboard and can't find a way to lower the speed so its somewhat silent. I may need a alternative fan so can someone recommend a silent fan. Its for a budget build so don't want to spend too much.

I'd go with the 7v molex adapter mentioned. As you may find an alternative fan to be about as loud on 12v anyway.
Would also try and find out how to lower the RPM through the BIOS. Have you tried sending off a message to Asus about it? It would be strange if it didn't have the ability.
