need a decent screen recorder

hey all im after a decent screen recorder for recoding msn convo's
recommend me something stable

i used cam studio but the recording wouldnt play and when they did it only played half

i made a video, a hilarious one at that and when i tried to play it both in the camstudio player and vlc it doesnt work, in vlc i see a blank screen and in camstudio player it takes 5 mins to load then only plays half the video
