Need a dehumidifier - Preferable From Amazon

I have the model one up from the EcoAir ECO DD122 with the touch control on top, on the auto setting it uses a constant 346w, we tend to leave it on from 6pm until 6am each day and when we have washing drying.

Don't think you will find better for the price.
I would shy away from the compressor type, the desiccant ones are far superior, especially this time of year.

I have used both types, the one linked above is witchcraft like in the amount of water it takes out the air. Also as a plus, the air it expels is nice and warm vs pretty much room temp air from a compressor type.

I bought this a few weeks ago and can highly recommend it, bought it to dry washing indoors and to generally dehumidify house it also filters the air too.
It sucked 2 liters of moisture out of the air in 2 hours the other night.

I had a desiccant and now a refrigerant based models over the last 5 years.

Desiccant appears to use more power, using the "turbo" feature that's designed (supposedly) for drying clothes causes the element to burn out quickly - in the end when I opened up the device the desiccant disk had burn marks all over it - obviously a fire hazard.
The do suck moisture out.

The refrigerant is noisier but given the lower power it's on for longer and seems to happily dry a full room of clothes (several washing loads) in one go. It helps if you set the humidity sensor to drag down the moisture but not attempt to be on all the time.

Added advantage is that unlike a tumble dryer, it doesn't destroy clothes by heat or over creasing them.

Typically several buckets of water are pulled in a drying session - but that session is the entire week's worth of cloths (including towels and often bed linen). The air then also dries out the rest of the house a bit too.. so we don't have moisture issues since using it. I point the air out at the thickest clothes and rotate them over the time. We have a hydrometer too in the room that shows the drop in humidity.

At some point we'll get the money together to sort out the kitchen and put in an extractor - I've offered to put one in but she-who-must-be-obeyed wants the kitchen first so no filling of gaps etc.. this all adds to the humidity.. and the extractor also helps control (indirectly) that humidity.
