Just trying to narrow something on the AOC U2868PQU 4K monitor.

From my experience, my R9 290 when set at DP 1.2 at 60hz pops and flickers.

Has anyone with an Nvidia card (preferably 980 above) had no issues with this?

I'm considering an upgrade but don't want to be be having the issues I am, as I recall it was because the signal sent wasn't strong enough on the 290/X

It's half the screen flickering and popping when set at 60hz. I know it's common but I don't want to upgrade to a 980ti IF it's not just an AMD issue.

Just to note, the pop sound is audible. As the screen is two stitched together, 1 side is OK, the other isn't.

Turn the volume on the screen down to 0 - there is some bug with power saving on the monitor that causes it. (At a guess there is a capacitor somewhere related to the audio side that in certain power management situations gets discharged in an uncontrolled manner causing a brief voltage spike in the surrounding circuit).

I found most of the issues with mine slowly became less and less frequent over time but it still has atrocious input lag (50-60ms) and struggles with fast white<>black<>white pixel transitions that seems to cause the whole panel to lag at times.

Ideally I'd like to know if 60hz works fine with a 980 or ti or if it's purely an AMD driver issue.

But thanks rroff. :)

Edit: Under the PIP Setting, audio is set to off already.

Can't tell you for sure with a 980 or ti but it works fine at 60Hz from my 780 and 470 SLI systems and I just tried hooking it upto a system with a 970 and that works fine as well.

EDIT: The post above was about the "pop" that happens along with one side of the screen rippling briefly - which I found went away entirely by turning the speaker volume on the monitor itself to 0 (not very helpful if you actually need the monitor audio but most people don't). That doesn't solve the issue where sometimes one half of the monitor would go out of sync with the other half - I found that happened less and less over time for some reason until after ~3 months or so it wouldn't happen for like 10+ days on end.

Ok found the volume control on the buttons is now on 0. I might bite the bullet, buy a ti and see if that works. Thanks a lot guys.

Edit: Found an old 760, will test tomorrow and report back.
