Need a floor stand... for 50kg plasma

Hi,

Struggling to find a floor stand for my kuro 60" weighing in at 50kg. Have sent numerous emails to various suppliers with no luck for something coping with size and weight.

Starting to think getting a metal fab shop to make something is the way to go.

Any one know of a suitable stand I may have missed?

the average human being weighs a lot more and i bet they could sit on most tv stands from ikea.

Ikea stands are strong, I had a 145kg telescope sitting on one for 2 years.

Apologies, should have added I want a cantilever type stand/mount. Like a wall bracket on a pole... it's current wall mounted but now needs to go in front of a window :-/

That will be a massive amount of mass if its fully extended.

Time for a new tv or a radical rethink on installation options like suggested above that tv is just too heavy!

cant really see this as being viable, if you could find one the footprint would be quite substantial,
if you had one made (cant imagine any 'shop' wanting to take the job on ) with a small footprint it would have to be bolted to the floor

I spent ages looking for a cantilever stand for my old Plasma.

Ended up buying one that was out of production, It was an Alphason ST600-90/2

Maximum 55" though but can take 60kg

I wouldn't trust kids to be around it though, doesn't feel that stable.

I would happily sell. But would then probably want to spend a few k on a new tv. The other half aint gonna like that

IMO you would have to be crazy to keep it with how much it's worth. it will likely die soon and you will then no longer have a substantial deposit towards your new set. it's also 1080p it's defunct. get rid of it whilst you can

It won't be cheap, but might be worth seeing if Unicol make something suitable.

i suppose keeping an ageing tv worth money and spending £500 on a stand somehow makes more sense to your wife? i would explain to her it's 10 years old. 4k and oled are out now and it's to heavy to mount without spending a fortune which would be better invested in a new tv.

Plasma is far superior to any LED technology in terms of picture quality even 4k ones.
Only OLED beats it which is expensive as ****.
