Need a game playable on a long flight...

Star Wars - Knights Of The Old Republic
Star Wars - Knights Of The Old Republic 2 *+ patch to restore removed content*

Should keep you busy. :D

You should bang out Mass Effect 1 in one flight. Your laptop will handle it no problem and you can complete the story and some of the side missions in 10h no probs. You should probably get ME2 before you leave as you'll definitely want to play it after completing the first one.

This TBH. And as he said, get ME2 as well as you will want to start that soon as you're finished 1.

If you're into indie games check out Bastion, it's a really decent story driven RPG that looks beautiful and has some amazing voice work. It'll easily kill a good few hours.

Flight Simulator, just mirror your actual flight. Everyone would think you are so cool.

This is a great idea.

Just play football manager. It is good for flights that are between 1 minute long and 1 year long :D:D You might think that you would have left around 1 hour before, but your 8 hours flight would have been done already.

+1 for Civ 5, you wont know where the flight went.

You could also do a new Baldur's Gate 1/2 playthrough. Thats what I intend for my next trip to NZ.

Considering the lack of mouse space, I'd suggest something that's easily/comfortably playable with a controller (if you have one). I remember killing an 8 hour ferry trip by playing through super mario world on a snes emulator a few years back :p

Or one of the GTA games?

Or FF7?

Heroes of Might & Magic / Kings Bounty series might work.

Devil May Cry 4 works great with a controller too.

or think he's a terrorist.....

think i read that simcity now has an offline mode so you can give that a whirl :D easily eat through a good few hours with that and I can run it on my low spec lappy so you'll be fine :)

FTL

Could easily sink 10-20 hours into that one.

Would be relatively light on batteries too.

Agreed. Fantastic game and not the least bit demanding. Also try Binding Of Isaac, I realise it might be a little obscure compared to what you've listed but it really is a fun little game. Sinked about 80 hours into it myself.

Surprised no one has said minecraft. can be fun for an hour or so. If your into racing games, I'm sure Dirt 3 would run fine (coupled with a controller). Was pretty fun sitting on a train for 4 hours listening to some drum and bass and flying through the air with a tricked up Ford Focus

"Hey dawg, I heard you like planes so we gave you a plane simulator. Now you can plane while you plane!"

How about getting Dwarf Fortress, getting the passenger list, and then naming all of your dwarves after the passengers :p

"Mr. Green! You just got punched by a goblin that sent you flying into the trap pit. Mrs. Baker, you're currently grappling with the goblin champion and.. ooh.. you've just ripped off his arm and currently using it as a weapon!"

field runners 2 on steam or android

Good point, also more high-end PC based TD games like Defense Grid and Sol Survivor are both great games and will suck up hours easily. :)
